This August, the Iowa Environmental Council is excited to welcome a new member of our team, John Crotty, who will serve as an assistant in the Council’s water program. John is a lifelong Iowan and a recent graduate of Drake University Law School. As a law student, he focused his academic work on environmental law and gained experience with the legislative and regulatory processes by interning at the state capitol and working as a legal clerk at the Department of Natural Resources. At the Council, John will support the adoption and implementation of appropriate rules, legislation, and voluntary actions to meet water quality standards and to ensure the health and safety of Iowa’s water resources.
John replaces water program assistant Annie Beaman, who left her position to pursue new opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Everyone at the Council is grateful to Annie for her service, and we wish her the very best!
